Mr. Motshwari Kitso is widely recognised as one of Botswana’s most committed champions for child welfare and family strengthening. As the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages in Botswana, he has devoted 29 years to protecting, uplifting, and empowering some of the country’s most vulnerable children.

Throughout his nearly three-decade journey, Mr. Kitso has led with humility, courage, and an unwavering belief that every child deserves a safe and loving home. His work has touched thousands of lives from children who grew up within SOS Children's Villages to families supported through community programmes across the country.

Under his leadership, SOS Children’s Villages in Botswana strengthened its focus on:

• Family-like care for children without parental support
• Family strengthening programmes to keep families together
• Youth empowerment initiatives to prepare young people for independent living
• Community development interventions that build resilience and reduce vulnerability
