In a continued effort to support public healthcare in Botswana, SOS Children’s Villages Botswana has officially handed over four state-of-the-art dental chairs to the Ministry of Health. The donation, valued at P250,000, was made possible through sponsorship from SOS Children’s Villages Sweden under its Oral Health Program.

The dental chairs will be allocated to Thamaga Primary Hospital, Palapye Primary Hospital, and the Kweneng District Health Management Team (DHMT), as confirmed by the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Botswana, Mr. Motshwari Kitso. This latest donation builds on a previous contribution of two dental chairs to the Francistown DHMT, bringing the total number of donated units to six and marking the successful completion of a long-term initiative aimed at improving oral healthcare across the country.

Mr. Kitso emphasized that the goal of the program is to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, particularly in underserved communities, and to enhance access to essential dental services for all Batswana.

Representing the Ministry of Health, the Director of Public Health, Mr. Samuel Kolane, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the generous support. “We are deeply grateful to SOS Children’s Villages Botswana and their partners for this timely and valuable donation. These dental chairs will significantly enhance service delivery in the beneficiary districts and improve the overall oral health of the communities we serve,” he said.
