Gift donations for birthdays, Christmas & Co.

Christmas, birthdays or weddings are wonderful occasions to give presents to loved ones and acquaintances. But you know it all too well: the ideal gift idea just doesn't and doesn't want to come to mind.

This gave rise to the idea of our own fundraising campaign : just ask for a donation instead of a gift !

With your own donation initiative you can support an important cause directly and at the same time draw attention to it! In addition, the givers know exactly what they can do to make you happy and do not have to rack their brains about a suitable gift.

A personal certificate & card completes the gift

So that you don't have to turn up empty-handed at the Christmas or birthday party, you can design a personal gift certificate during the donation process. With this you can hand over a personal donation including a certificate to the wishlessly lucky person instead of an impersonal embarrassment gift.

In this way, what appears to be a simple monetary donation or a clumsy donation receipt (à la "here's proof that I actually donated") becomes a "concrete", attractive and original gift. A nice card with a few personal words that you can present to the recipient is also suitable for this type of gift.

Especially if the birthday child or the bridal couple would like a donation instead of a gift , such "nevertheless" gifts are an additional nice gesture. And when you donate at Christmas , you have something to put under the tree in addition to the certificate.

Am einfachsten können Sie eine Spende verschenken, indem Sie sich in unserem Geschenkspendeshop eines unserer Hilfspakete aussuchen. Bei der Bestellung bekommen Sie eine liebevoll gestaltete Geschenksurkunde, die Sie dann verschenken können.

Je nachdem, welches Spendenprodukt Ihnen zusagt, kommt das gespendete Geld verschiedenen Einrichtungen in Österreich und weltweit zugute. Dazu gehören nicht nur unsere SOS-Kinderdorf-Familien, sondern auch mobile und ambulante Betreuung und Bildungseinrichtungen.

Ja, eine Geschenkspende ist steuerlich absetzbar. Ihre Spende wird von uns sogar automatisch ans Finanzamt weitergeleitet, sofern wir alle dafür nötigen Daten übermittelt bekommen. Dafür können Sie sich hier anmelden.

Jahres-bericht 2020

Dass nicht jeder einzelne Cent Ihrer Spende bei Kindern und Familien in Not ankommt, ist klar. Allerdings verpflichten wir uns natürlich dazu, so wenig als möglich für Verwaltungs- und Werbungskosten auszugeben. Laut dem Jahresbericht 2018 entfielen 5,1% der Ausgaben auf Spendenwerbung und 4,8% auf Verwaltungsausgaben.

77% unserer Einnahmen wenden wir für die SOS-Kinderdorf Einrichtungen in Österreich auf und 9,8% fließt in unsere weltweit angesiedelten Projekte.

Hie und da kommt es vor, dass man zu einem besonderen Anlass als Gästin bzw. Gast im Vorhinein um eine Geldspende für eine gemeinnützige Einrichtung gebeten wird. Macht man doch gerne! Doch bei der Feier schließlich nur Glückwünsche aussprechen und sozusagen mit leeren Händen auftauchen? Auch nicht ganz das Wahre.

Statt die X-te Flasche Rotwein mitzubringen oder den „Geschenketisch“ mit noch einem Blumenstrauß oder Schokolade zu füllen, gibt es andere Möglichkeiten.

Wir hatten bereits die Spendenurkunde erwähnt. Eine Idee wäre, diese zu rahmen und damit schön in Szene zu setzen. Alternativ passt zur Urkunde auch eine nette Karte oder etwa ein gutes Buch. Vielleicht verrät Ihnen der Spendenzweck ja bereits, wofür sich der oder die Beschenkte interessieren würde.

Recht wahrscheinlich ist aber auch, dass mit der Spende bereits alle Wünsche erfüllt sind und das kleine „Extra“ auch gar nicht nötig ist. Schließlich stehen bei solchen Anlässen doch das Beisammensein und das gemeinsame Feiern im Vordergrund.
