Family Strengthening Program

Family strengthening program responds to the situation of children who are at risk of losing family care (child-family separation). We focus on building resilience of communities to be able to support and provide for children at risk of losing parental care and also on parenting skills for caregivers and life skills for families

Our Help

Each child needs someone to support and protect them as they grow. But many parents face hardships that prevent them from giving proper care. SOS Children’s Villages Botswana offers tailored support to strengthen families in need, helping to keep them together. From counseling to skills development, parents are empowered with the resources they need to overcome their difficulties. With strong families, children and young people can receive the care and support they need to thrive. We work in and around communities where we have a presence in structure. Our operation locations are Tlokweng and Francistown. We offer family strengthening services through Direct Family Empowerment and Community Empowerment for Family Empowerment as follow:

  • Francistown (758 beneficiaries & 178 families);
  • Locations (Mathangwane, Shashemooke, Chadibe, Borolong)
  • Tlokweng (756 beneficiaries & 165 families)
